KeyPool in ChatGPT and Codex¶
KeyPool offers MCP tools for search and extraction, speech, subtitles, weather, IP lookup, aviation data, geocoding and page scraping. Use the endpoint your administrator provides:

Select keypool in a new Work chat. Your administrator supplies the combined plugin and connection instructions. The former KeyPool workflows wrapper is a fallback for accounts whose app release controls cannot accept a skill bundle. Use one skill variant in a chat. Native mobile availability depends on your account; a web browser with a narrow viewport does not establish native mobile execution.
For Codex, add the supplied GitHub marketplace, install KeyPool through
/plugins, and start a new session. Complete OAuth when prompted. The GitHub
package is publicly distributed; a public OpenAI Plugins Directory listing
requires a separate review and publication.
A direct MCP connection in Codex supplies tools without the packaged skill:

Sign in and check access¶
Tool metadata links each operation to its KeyPool service contract through
_meta["keypool/contract"] (id and version). keypool_profile returns a
contracts map for the services available to your connection. Contract
revisions use YYYYmmddZ-<short commit hash> and are separate from the MCP
protocol and installed plugin versions.
Enter your existing team token on the KeyPool consent page only. Review the requesting app, redirect destination and service choices. Do not paste the token into chat or a tool argument. Grant only the services you intend to use.
In a fresh chat, load the KeyPool skill and call keypool_profile once. It
reports the services available to that connection and their provider tool
count; the profile tool itself is excluded from that count. An account with
all currently admitted services reports 13 services and 33 provider tools.
Restricted accounts can report fewer.
Discovery confirms access to tool declarations. It does not test provider credential health, account entitlement, quota or successful execution.

Name a provider when its API or results matter. Each tool exposes a specific operation; ordinary REST/SDK support does not imply an MCP tool exists. ElevenLabs, AssemblyAI, Groq, Voyage, SerpAPI and Gladia have separate proxy interfaces and are outside this MCP catalog. Exa Agent, Connect, Research and Monitors are also outside the MCP tool set.
Account plan limits and quotas still apply. Speech generation and subtitle downloads may consume quota. After an uncertain timeout, check the result before submitting the same request again. For an asynchronous Firecrawl job, use its matching status tool and returned job ID.
For SubDL, pass the /v1/subdl/subtitle/... path from a returned download
URL to the download tool. For OpenSubtitles, pass the returned file_id to
the download tool.
Updates and troubleshooting¶
For the personal ChatGPT web setup, the administrator builds and uploads a new ZIP through the existing plugin's Upload new version control when its skill or references change. Codex uses its marketplace update flow separately; a Codex marketplace update does not update the personal web copy. The combined web plugin provides one installation, with a separate package release step.
Workspace admins can instead configure GitHub marketplace import and sync, with daily updates or Sync now. This requires workspace setup and a web-compatible app reference. A personal-account repository-sync path has not been established for the setup described here.

Use one intended KeyPool connection and one skill variant in a chat. A missing tool may reflect a restricted token or a service omitted during consent. If a tool is present but execution fails, inspect its provider, plan or quota error and ask your administrator about that operation's availability. A plugin update does not change your granted permissions.
Uninstalling a redundant workflow plugin removes its installed bundle. An entry can still appear under Personal → Created by you with an Install button; that entry does not mean the plugin remains installed. Removing the owned listing is a separate action, if the host exposes it.
Downloaded files¶
Speech and subtitle tools return a filename, media type, size, expiry and download link. Files are limited to 32 MiB and links expire after one hour. Anyone with a link can use it during that time while your service access remains valid. Share it only with people who need the file.
